Summer has arrived (at least according to the academic calendar, if not the actual weather) and so Luther Center activities go on hiatus along with much of the USD student body.
We may still get together for some fun over the summer, though, so keep an eye out here and at the facebook page for summer activities as well as information about LC life next fall.

Take a break from studying or packing up and come to the Luther Center this evening for our last Wednesday worship gathering of the semester. We’ll have a dessert bar with a variety of goodies followed by worship with Holy Communion. Pastor Andy will have a special word of sending for you as you head into your summer!

WORSHIP: Wednesday at 8pm We are coming down to our last several Wednesdays of worship. If you need some time to gather in peace, enjoy a free meal, and get some respite from a hectic end to the semester, we would love to see you on Wednesday.
FISHING PICNIC: Sunday (4/21), 3pm to 5:30pm The Luther Center will be having an end-of-the-year picnic and fishing party over in Yankton. We’ll grill out, play lawn games, and for those who are interested, we’ll do a little fishing from the shore.
Doc Freese will supply rods, reels, and fishing lessons for anyone who is interested in trying their luck. (A one-day fishing license can be purchased at several places in Vermillion, including HyVee and WalMart)
We’ll carpool from the Luther Center that afternoon and spend some time relaxing and enjoying what I’m sure will be a gorgeous day!
SERVE AT THE WELCOME TABLE: Monday (4/22) 5pm to 7:30pm The Luther Center will be serving the meal at the Welcome Table at First United Methodist Church here in Vermillion. Please join us to help serve and eat!
NOON PRAYER IN THE MANNER OF TAIZE: Monday – Friday, 12pm at Danforth Chapel
Every weekday at Noon, join other students, faculty, and staff in USD’s Danforth Chapel for a 20min prayer service in the manner of Taize. It is a powerful way to re-center in the midst of busy days, and a great way to begin preparing for Taize at Pine Ridge in May!
STOP-N-STUDY: Sunday through Thursday, 6 – 10pm, come hang out and study at the Luther Center. There are always snacks in the cupboard and the fridge. Plus we have free printing and WiFi!

WORSHIP: NOTE THE TIME CHANGE – Wednesday at 8:30pm-ish (after the campus speaker) With IdeaFest this week at USD, you have a remarkable opportunity to hear the astronaut, Capt. Mark Kelly, speak on Wednesday evening. We encourage you to take advantage of this, and then we invite you to come to the Luther Center after the speaker for a brief evening prayer and communion service. NO MEAL TONIGHT, but we will have dessert provided by Doc and Faith Freese.

WORSHIP: Wednesday at 8pm, join us for Communion Worship and a free meal and snacks. Since the weather is looking to be splendid, we’ll have at least part of our worship outside around a campfire.
All through Lent, we wrote down on slips of paper those places in our lives where we have felt the burden of our sinfulness and brokenness. On Wednesday, as a symbol of Jesus Christ’s promise of complete forgiveness, we’ll send those burdens up in smoke!
